Neighborhood guide: Mount Vernon
The Washington Monument is a Mount Vernon landmark.

With the Walters Art Museum, several galleries and some of the city's best high-end restaurants, Mount Vernon is as well known as Baltimore's cultural district as it is for the gay pride it espouses, particularly at establishments like the Hippo and Grand Central. But, don't forget to visit the original Washington Monument. Its view makes the climb to the top worthwhile.
