Neighborhood guide: Downtown
The view from Mount Vernon's Washington Monument
(Credit: Amanda Krotki)
With the waterfront attractions to the south and Mount Vernon to the north, downtown Baltimore often gets overlooked. But, you can still find high-end restaurants, nightclubs and, of course, Lexington Market here. Generic skyscrapers and delis may dot the landscape, but there are enough old buildings and local establishments to remind you of Baltimore's charm.
