Each weekend, Metromix steps up to give you the scoop on the best concerts, festivals and events Baltimore has to offer. Get out there and take advantage! And, to avoid spending the weekend alone with your Wii, remember to check back each week.

'Hos, Hookers, Call Girls and Rent Boys' Reading

pick 'Hos, Hookers, Call Girls and Rent Boys' Reading

Atomic Books - 3620 Falls Road - Hampden

Friday: Editor and one-time prostitute David Henry Sterry visits Baltimore to read excerpts from "Hos, Hookers, Call Girls and Rent Boys." The sex worker expose is a collection of memoirs from folks in the biz, and revelations of the trade are realized through tales of lust and money.

Stephen Lynch

pick Stephen Lynch

Lyric Opera House - 140 W. Mount Royal Ave. - Mount Vernon

Friday: Starring in the Broadway musical of "The Wedding Singer" gives cred to Stephen Lynch, the singing comedian whose humorous songs reveal how badass the Peanuts characters are and provide semi-offensive history lessons for children. Write it down, mother effers.

The Rocky Horror Show

pick The Rocky Horror Show

The Mobtown Theater - Suite 114 - 3600 Clipper Mill Road - Baltimore
November 7 : 8 p.m. Second screening at midnight

Friday and Saturday: Last week, we skipped "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" for the Egg Babies at Metro. The Babies' cover of "The Time Warp," though, has us fiending for more. This is our last chance for call-and-response mayhem.

pick Lindy 500 Baltimore Limo Scavenger Hunt

Della Rose's - 1st Mariner Tower, 1st Floor - 1501 S. Clinton St. - Baltimore
November 7 : 3 p.m. - 10 p.m. Pre-party at Della Rose's from 3-5 p.m., Scavenger hunt from 5-8 p.m.

Saturday: Laugh in the face of the economic recession with a freewheelin' limo ride around Baltimore. Teams scour the town in search of scavenger hunt clues and lots of booze. What's not to like?

Let's Eat! Charles Street

Mt. Vernon Cultural District - 217 N. Charles Street - Downtown
November 7 : 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Saturday: The event title is basically our personal mantra. Though Let's Eat! Charles Street actually takes place on Read Street, it offers hungry Mount Vernon visitors samples of Marie Louise, Mick O'Shea's and more.

pick Peter Bjorn and John

9:30 Club - 815 V St. N.W. - Northwest
November 7 : 8 p.m.

Saturday: The Swedish indie rockers traveled a long way to play D.C. You, however, only have to drive an hour or so to hear Peter Bjorn and John. Don't expect all whistling and head-bobbing, though, the trio's revealed a more serious side on recent albums.

Art of Darkness: Inspired by Poe

pick Art of Darkness: Inspired by Poe

Baltimore Museum of Art - 10 Art Museum Drive - Baltimore
Daily (ends January 17)

Through Jan. 17: There's no better way to keep it classy when appreciating the world of Poe than by exploring classic prints, drawings and illustrations inspired by the man of macabre himself. Included in the exhibit are illustrations for "The Raven" by Edouard Manet and a portrait of Poe by Henri Matisse.
