What are you, some sort of freedom-hater?

Just kidding. We know the throngs crowding in an around Harborplace can take their toll on even the most patriotic of Americans. That's why we've conjured ways to spend Independence Day activities eschewing the nationalistic fervor sweeping the country.

Harbor East Theatre

pick Harbor East Theatre

645 President Street - Baltimore
410-244-6636

There's always the cool calm of an air-conditioned movie theater to shield you from the rocket's red glare and bombs bursting in air. That's not to say explosions are totally undesirable. On the contrary, "Public Enemies," the Dillinger-based shoot-em-up, could supply just the sort of explosions anti-Fourth folks are looking for.

Station North Flea Market

pick Station North Flea Market

Station North Arts and Entertainment District - Charles Street and North Avenue - Baltimore
Every 1st Saturday of the month 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. (ends November 7)

This market may not be the land of the free, but it's certainly the land of the incredibly inexpensive.

What are you doing ofor Independence Day?
