The 2008 African-American
Heritage Festival, held June 27-29, will mostly be remembered for its three-day downpour.
However, the rain didn’t stop the crowds from coming out to enjoy live
performances by Lil Mo, Fantasia and Baltimore’s own, Mario. The festival
included vendors selling everything from African crafts to smoked sausages,
carnival rides and spoken word poetry.—La Kaye Mbah
