Metromix takes a hike

Of Shenandoah National Park's more than 500 miles of hiking trails, we intended to park at the Old Rag Mountain lot, and climb the Ridge Trail to it's peak at 3,291 feet. That's what we intended to do, anyway.
What really happened is that everyone and their third cousin decided to head down to Skyline Drive in Virginia for its sweeping autumnal vistas. Jerks. We headed instead to the Lower Whiteoak Falls. Why does communing with nature have to be so difficult?—Mark Gross
