Welcome to Atlantic City

Long considered Las Vegas’ poor, tacky and inferior cousin, this shore town has come a long way since the 1980s when the area was known to be kind of seedy. With new development to include new hotels, shopping outlets and a minor league baseball stadium, along with bigger, better and glitzier casinos (11 in all), a cleaner beach and top-name entertainment, Atlantic City is no longer the place where grannies in their Rascal Scooters blow their social security checks at the nickel slots (although you do still see a few of them around, usually hauling oxygen tanks).
