Patterson Bowling Center
This place is famous. Not only can the Patterson boast being the oldest continuously-run duckpin bowling alley in the country, it gets the added bonus of counting Babe Ruth among its list of former customers. Well, maybe. There is a photograph of the Babe duckpin bowling, but no one is really sure if he ever bowled at the Patterson lanes. However, it is true that The Babe's cousins bowl at Patterson, and management says those ladies are phenomenal.
While the Patterson may be historic, it has been updated over the decades. Electronic scoring makes bowling a whole lot easier (it even keeps track if you throw one too many balls), and league players have easy access to personalized stats and standings. The snack bar has closed, but soda is still available for sale and you're free to bring in outside food, beer or wine. You can even have a pizza delivered, if you like. Just make sure to use a napkin. It's impolite to handle someone else's balls with greasy fingers.
