With a new semester underway, there are a few things you need to keep in mind. One, if you're taking 18 credits and working two jobs, you might feel like you've gone into hibernation. Two, if you plan on keeping up this pace, you're gonna need some distractions.
To avoid a sad semester spent studying, get out and enjoy Towson's bar scene. From Greene Turtle to Lil' Dicky's Saloon, we'll show you where to find great drinks, music, dancing and even some bar bites to make it through the semester.

TU students seek extracurricular rewards

The Crease
523 York Road - TowsonA Wednesday night hot spot, The Crease is crawling with Towson and Villa Julie students. Since ladies drink for $5 all night, who can blame them? It gets pretty crowded, though, so you might have to push your way to the bar to get served. For the price, it's worth it. If you play a sport, you'll certainly fit in with all the jocks. If not, you can always pretend. Go Tigers!
The Greene Turtle
408 York Road - TowsonLet's face it, there's a Greene Turtle opening on almost every corner these days. But you can't beat the people, prices or dancing at the Towson location. During the day, you'll find a wide variety of diners (i.e. old folks) here, but come back after the sun sets and the college crowd invades. Join the festivities during Time Warp Tuesday and enjoy $1.50 Miller Lites and $2 shooters. Or, head over on a Wednesday night after the Rec clears out, and get groped by all the drunks on the dance floor.
Kent Lounge & Restaurant
506 York Road - TowsonThis neighborhood bar is a quiet place for more thoughtful 20-somethings. During the week you may find a few drunken TU students, but mostly the Kent's pretty chill. Don't dress to impress. If you wear jeans and a T-shirt, you'll look just fine. Shoot, you might even be overdressed.
Lil Dicky's Saloon
404 York Road - TowsonSize doesn't matter at this great little spot, also known for its neighborhood atmosphere. Or maybe we shouldn't say "known," since many Towson students haven't even heard of Dicky's. If you want to get away from the beer-swilling droves and prefer to hang out with an older crowd, this is the place for you. The service is great because, well, there's hardly anyone here.
The Rec Room
512 York Road - TowsonWith its $1 bottle special, this joint gets pretty busy on Wednesday nights. Other than that, Rec Room is a good place to play pool and meet up with the high school crowd you hoped you wouldn't see again. The range of guests here is eclectic, to say the least, so no matter who you are you'll probably find your niche. There's even creepy older guys who sit at the bar trying to buy co-eds drinks. Our advice? A free beer's a free beer.
Souris' Saloon
537 York Road - TowsonLocated right on the Towson Circle, Souris is the talk of college students across the Towson area. On a Friday or Saturday it's filled with tons of college co-eds ready to party. There's usually a great DJ, too. If you go two weekends in a row, you're bound to run in to someone you know from class.
