Best places to watch the Cubs lose
Cardinals hero Steve Bartman helped preserve the curse during the Cubs 2003 post-season run

So, the playoffs start Wednesday. The Cardinals—while certainly overachieving this year—are not going to the post-season. Even worse, the arch-rival Chicago Cubs are playing in October. We here at Metromix thought it would be fitting to compile the top five places to cheer against the Cubs.

St. Louis doesn't like Jim Edmonds anymore, so what better place to root against the Cubbies than Edmonds' own place? Wouldn't it be nice to see a close-up of a sad Jim Edmonds on the TV at his sports bar?

J Buck's

101 S. Hanley Road - Clayton
314-725-4700

The Clayton J Buck's location is the perfect place to root against the Cubs. It's nice and big, and there will be plenty of people there to help you cheer against the boys in blue.

Mike Shannon's Steaks and Seafood

pick Mike Shannon's Steaks and Seafood

620 Market St. - St. Louis

Drink up while you watch the Cubs lose in Mike Shannon's Outfield. This huge, open-air place should have a hopping atmosphere.

Skybox Sports Bar and Grill

pick Skybox Sports Bar and Grill

800 N. 3rd St. - St. Louis
314-241-5100

There are so many huge, high-quality TVs in here, everyone should be able to find a place to perch. Not to mention, you might run into a few Cubs fans here (since it's so big). And there's nothing better than rooting against a team when their own fans are present.

Lester's Sports Bar and Grill

Lester's Sports Bar and Grill

9906 Clayton Road - Ladue

There are a ton of TVs here, too. And for Cards fans out in West County, it's a lot more convenient to get to than some of the places downtown.
