Fried green tomatoes at Lucy's

Ingredients: Lucy's puts a spoon full of crab salad between two slices of fried green tomato then drizzles it with a roasted red pepper aioli sauce.
Damage: $11.25
Skinny: Chef Stephen Carey's training is more Southern U.S. than Irish U.K., but don't think that means he's unfit for Lucy's. Carey's creations are unique and intriguing, making Lucy's a hit with the theater crowd. The fried green tomatoes are more sophisticated than the name implies. The tomatoes themselves are thickly breaded, the crab salad is lighter than you would expect and the whole thing comes across as pretty upscale. What makes this Irish? Well, aside from being served at an Irish restaurant and bar, we'd be hard-pressed to say. Relax. It's good.—Mark Gross
