Mother's pajama brunch

Twice a year, Mother's Federal Hill Grille takes "Sunday fun day" to a whole new level of hardcore daytime drinking. Mother's throws pajama brunches on the Sundays of Presidents Day and Labor Day weekends, giving drinkers extra time to recover before going back to work on Tuesday.
Pajama brunch starts at the crack of 8 a.m. and specials last until 2 p.m. (And, yes, people do actually show up demanding mimosas and bloody Marys at opening.) Those in appropriate attire (read pajamas only; no lingerie, boxers, lacrosse shorts, scrubs or sweats) receive 50 percent off their entire check, including alcohol. Although the promotion ends at 2 p.m., many hang around in their casual wear until much, much later, which makes for an interesting sight come 8 or 9 p.m. when people stumble onto the streets of Federal Hill still wearing fuzzy bunny slippers.
Alongside the usual eggs, French toast and pancakes, Mother's offers more adventurous diners creamed chipped beef, crab and shrimp breakfast quesadillas or its new California melt, featuring egg, turkey bacon and avocado with tomato and Cheddar melted on a bagel.
So, get your head together after a raucous Saturday night, roll out of bed and stumble to Mother's for some delicious brunch and bloody Mary or mimosa pitchers. Just make sure everything is covered where it should be. It's still a family establishment, after all.
