Prescription: Yogi Tea's Peach Detox
Active ingredients: Fo-ti and dandelions (to boost the liver and kidneys functions) and corn silk and parsley (to support the body's natural ability to eliminate fluids)
Deductible: $4.39 for 16 tea bags at yogitea.com
Symptoms: A solid Power Hour (featuring '80s tunes like "Karma Chameleon") started things off, which was followed by shotgunning Natty Bohs. Powers Irish Whiskey took things to a whole other level, and that's before we went to the bars. A merry-go-round of who-knows-what-booze in Canton ended when I was rejected by my dream girl. After a cold stumble home, we all cheered up with more Bohs, foosball and some more '80s tunes.
Diagnosis: I woke up under the covers with my jeans, shoes and scarf still on. My head was throbbing so hard I thought perhaps I'd passed out on one of those vibrating motel beds. After boiling some water, three of us tried the Detox tea. We sat around watching "The Wire" on HBO On Demand, but couldn't make it through the first half-hour before we all shared panicked looks and raced toward the bathrooms. Three guys, two toilets, one horrific tea. Not the way to start your Saturday.
The Detox tea, in some strange way, did make us feel better, but only after an hour in the bathroom. Maybe the time-passing or the heavy-sweating got me through the hangover, but maybe, just maybe, it was the tea. It flushed our system completely, which, in theory, would get rid of the hangover-causing elements in us. Then again, I'd rather be mildly hung-over than stuck to the toilet.—Brandon Picchierri
