Prescription: 3 a.m. meal at the Broadway Diner
Active ingredients: Grease. Any drunk will tell you that a nice, greasy snack at 3 a.m. curbs the side effects of too much drinking. There's something magical about French fries, we're certain of it.
Deductible: The Broadway Diner's appetizer combo will set you back $9.55. It includes chicken fingers, French fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks and fried zucchini sticks.
Symptoms: A night at Mac's in Essex to see Love Gun—Baltimore’s own Kiss cover band which performs in full makeup—included several amaretto and 7 Ups, followed by a couple of lemon drop shooters. As the night wore on, I really wanted to rock and roll all night and party ev-er-y day, but this drinker was starting to feel a little queasy—most likely due to the combination of booze and continuous smoke from Love Gun's on-stage pyrotechnics.
Diagnosis: This prescription is not recommended for those of you who do not indulge in greasy food regularly. My friend felt fine the next day (even though she couldn't remember the car ride home), but my stomach revolted. It wasn't the diner's fault. It was mine.
