Sludge
Before we move on, let's consider some methodology. I use a flat hand and a gentle flip. Some folks do the two-fingered flip. Some flip hard. Some use more stylized flips like the metal flip (index and pinkie extended) or the shocker (index, middle and pinkie extended). If you've got a good lead, flip really hard and go for the 540.
Now, one of the by-products of a few good rounds of flip cup (regardless of style) is sludge. Sludge is that amber-colored sheen on the table, a combination of beer, head and backwash that forms an adhesive layer of liquid. Disgusting, true, but the fact remains that everyone wants sludge on the table. Some teams pour beer on the table and slosh it around before the first round, because the liquid helps stick the flip and make you look like a "one-flip wonder."
