Beer
How much beer do you put in your cup?
Too much beer (i.e. filling the cup to the brim) could result in serious injury, but too little beer defeats the purpose of the game. (Plus, you'll probably be pegged as a sissy.) Remember, everyone who leaves Flip Cup drunk leaves Flip Cup a winner.
Now, let's say you've got one of those plastic frat party cups of the Solo variety. A good amount of beer comes about halfway between the bottom of the cup and the first crease or groove or whatever the hell you want to call those lines. Basically, you want to be able to throw back your brew in one swig. It keeps the game fast-paced and exciting.
If you're not seeing double, counting to eight is a pretty simple task, otherwise consider "matching up" by raising your cup in a sort of toast to the other team. Everyone should find a challenger across the table. If not, maybe you're the sub. In which case, go fill up the pitcher.
