Laphroaig 10 Year
Credit:John Houser III
Damage: $8.45 (Prices reflect a 1.5 ounce pour.)
Skinny: With its inviting leather couch smell, the Laphroaig (La-froyg) tasted just as comfortable. There was no harsh first taste and no harsh back end flavors, so the Laphroaig was really smooth and smoky but without the "twang" of other Scotches. This was Metromix's second favorite. You could think of the Laphroaig as Ewan McGregor and Shirley Manson singing a sweet duet while golfing. It's really smooth and soothing, but only has the one note and doesn't quite make par.
