Vibe: Forget about Scooby, Scrappy and even Snoopy ... its all about Thirsty! Your everyday shelter from the yuppie storm that is Federal Hill, The Dog Pub is a bar with a brew house feel, an excellent menu and a laid back atmosphere. Housed in a narrow building, The Dog is deceivingly spacious with plenty of room at the bar or in tables available in every section.
Crowd: All breeds are welcome and unlike the rest of Fed Hill, there is no need to worry about grooming. And bring the animals; the Dog is one of the few bars in this part of the city that allows dogs.
Libations: Two for $3 Same Time, Same Kind -- that's the house deal and its always in effect. All the beers are named for dogs (Black Dog, Dirty Dog, etc.) and they're supplied by the Old Dominion Brewing Co. Make sure to try the flavored and mixed brews.
Sounds: Somewhere behind the beautiful cacophony of barking, yapping and woofing is a strong stereo, pumping out a nice mix of rock and pop music that lends itself well to the ears of 20-30 year olds (human years, not dog years).
Service: Attentive and suggestive -- the pure pedigree of Baltimore bar staff.
Bottom line: For beer people ... For dog people ... For people people ... check out the The Dog Pub.
