What makes a good Irish bar? Is it the name or the place? Does the owner have to be an Emerald Isle native? Must it serve authentic Irish fare? Just because a bar is called something like the Green Shamrock, is run by someone named Seamus O'Callaghan and serves bangers and mash, doesn't necessarily make it the best Irish joint in town. Sure, a little authenticity is good, but often, what makes a good Irish pub a good Irish pub is its atmosphere and attitude. It doesn't have to be all leprechauns and Blarney Stones. Metromix found five lucky charms in Baltimore (that's Baltimore City, not the Baltimore in West Cork, Ireland), so you can finally stop searching for the end of that rainbow.
